2023 County Fair information >>
This year's El Dorado County Fair Theme is "Barrows, Boots and Bling". The fair will run from June 13 - 16, 2024. Once again, this year, Placerville Arts Association members, Lynell Phillips and Fab Sowa Dobkowski will act as Department Heads for Fine Arts and Photography. Good news for 3-D artists, your entries will be exhibited with Fine Arts and Photography in the Organ Room. Entry deadline is May 22, 2024, at 4 PM. Last year over 18,000 people attended the fair and this is a great opportunity to show your art to a large audience.
Placerville Arts Association sponsors a special "Spirit of the Sierra Award" in both the youth and adult divisions in Fine Arts and Photography given to the works that most embodies the Sierra spirit.
Volunteers Needed for Fine Art and Photography Exhibits at the El Dorado County Fair

We have volunteer positions open for this year’s county fair. Lynell Phillips will be managing the fine arts exhibit and Fab Dobkowski will manage the photography exhibits. We need volunteers for intake for shifts on June 3 from 10 am – 2 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm. The fair runs June 13 – June 16 and we will need volunteers throughout the day. When volunteering to sit the fair, let us know if you prefer morning, afternoon or evening for your shifts. We will have outtake on Monday, June 17 and need volunteers from 2 pm – 6 pm. Each volunteer gets a fair pass for each day they volunteer. To volunteer for the county fair, email placervilleartsassociation@gmail.com with “Fair Volunteer” in the subject line. Please include the dates you are available to volunteer and your preferred shift time in your email. For questions, call Lynell Phillips 415-793-2134.
Plein Air Painting
at the Fair on
Friday, June 14th
Come to the Fair and capture the fun and excitement of fair time on your canvas!
Check in at the Fine Arts Dept, in the Organ room,
Friday, June 14th from 12 - 2 with blank surface to be stamped by staff. Artwork due back by 6 pm for judging Artwork to be displayed through Fair.

The Plein Air Painting event will take place on Friday, June 14 from Noon to 6 pm. Check in for the Plein Air event is Friday, June 14 from Noon - 2 pm at the Organ Room.
Entry forms are due Wednesday May 22 by 4:00 pm to receive free fair admission with your entry or at noon on June 14 at the check in. Registration on June 14 does not include entry to the fair.
The award for this event is $100 but at least five artists must register for the event for the award to be granted.
