Paint Outs are outings in El Dorado County for artists to sketch, paint or photograph. These are open to all artists and photographers. PAA members and non-members are welcome.

With optional peer critique of artwork and coffee at
Moke A Java and visit to Petroglyph Gallery.

Meet at Shutter Tree Park

Intersection of Main & Center Streets.

Street parking. Terrain is flat/gentle slopes, with sidewalks.

"Moke Hill,” as it is known by the locals is a delightful little town full of character. There are plenty of Gold Rush era buildings such as the Hotel Léger (1851), the Congregational church (1856) and the I.O.O.F. Hall (1854) that would make great subjects in watercolor, gouache, oils or photography. After the paint out enjoy an option coffee at Moke A Java and a visit to the stunning Petroglyph Gallery.

Directions: From Placerville, take Hwy 49 south for approximately 1 hour. The park is in the middle of town next to the library, at the intersection of Center Street and Main Street

No need to RSVP—just show up! Bad weather cancels, check your email on the day incase of last minute cancellation/changes.
