Awards: All awards are made at the discretion of the judge. All awards are final with no exchanges or substitutions.
Eligibility: Open to all artists. Work must be original, not previously shown in a Mother Lode Art Exhibition, and must have been created in the last three years. No copies of published work, no class or workshop artwork, crafts, videos, film or work produced by any commercial printing process (exception: photography and digital imagery), and no giclées. Accepted paintings must be identical to the image submitted for entry.
Size Limitations: Two-dimensional works must not exceed 108 inches total of two adjacent sides with frame. The total of individual pieces of diptychs and triptychs are not to exceed the above dimensions. Each hanging piece is not to exceed 30 pounds. Sculptures over 50 pounds are to be installed by the artist and must meet gallery fire and safety code rules. Free-standing work must be stable and safe for viewing.
Media: Artists may work in any medium, except sound and video, and must apply through www.EntryThingy.com. Watercolor, oil, acrylic, scratchboard, pastel, pen and ink, pencil, charcoal, collage, photography, digital imagery, mixed media, wood, fiber, printmaking, fabric work, jewelry, and 3D are all accepted. However, copies or reproductions will not be accepted. Accepted art must be the same as submitted online.
Presentation: The Juror considers presentation as part of the jurying process. Works with an unfinished edge must be framed, with the exception of canvas on wide bars, i.e. gallery wrap; these should have the edges painted, or, if photography or digital, the image should extend around the edges. All pieces must be ready to install: the backs of paintings must be wired and taped. Please, no saw tooth hangers or screw eyes, clip frames or plastic box frames; these will not be accepted. Plexiglass is strongly recommended for all shipped art works. Jewelry should be mounted securely on an open frame or in a shadowbox. 3-D work must be able to be displayed securely on a level surface. If work needs additional support, that support must be provided by the artist. Placerville Arts Association reserves the right not to display works not meeting these guidelines.
Conditions of Entry: Entry into this exhibition constitutes agreement with all conditions set forth in this Prospectus and forms; this is your commitment to participate. Accepted work must remain for the duration of the show and will only be released at the end of the exhibit from 3:30-4pm on Saturday, November 19, or on Monday, November 21, from 9am to 5pm. Hand-delivered work to be picked up by anyone other than the original artist must show written permission from the artist. Work left after Monday, November 21, will be assessed $5.00 per day per work by Placerville Arts Association. It will then be the responsibility of the artist to make arrangements with Cheryl Gleason of the MACC, Cheryl@cordovacouncil.org, to pick up their work. Work left after Wednesday, November 23, becomes property of Placerville Arts Association.
Entry Fees: Up to 5 entries may be submitted, preferably on the same entry form, of which only 2 may be accepted. Cost is $20 per entry. Entry fees are nonrefundable and due upon entry. Fees are the same for Placerville Arts Association members and non-members. All entries must be made at www.EntryThingy.com.
Entry Form: The entry form must be filled out in its entirety. This form is considered a contract. List individual art sizes, including frame, to the nearest inch.
