Placerville Arts Association (PAA) is continuing our tradition of member shows.  The Summer 2022 show will be presented online at Placerville Arts Association’s website, placervillearts.com.

 

This year’s member show will be a bit different from our other events.  There is NO time limit as to when your art was created.  We are encouraging you to enter a collection of your work that represents you as an artist, from you began creating art to present day.  This is an opportunity to show how you have evolved or your persistence in being who you are.  Join us virtually for our summer virtual show.

 

Our show Judge is Gwen Fox.

Judge’s Bio: Gwen Fox is a renowned international professional Artist and Art Coach who empowers artists to recognize their unique artistic style, establish a marketing strategy, develop a strong success mindset while creating a life they love.  Gwen does this by relating her own personal story of self-discovery, helping Artists discard the limiting beliefs placed by outside influences. This allows each Artist to reach the core essence of their unlimited creativity.

Gwen’s work was selected to show with His Royal Highness Prince Phillip in the famous Fermoy Art Gallery Kings Lynn England.  She has shown in the Catherine Lorillard Wolf Art Club in New York, had one woman shows in Hawaii England, Washington D.C., Taos, NM, Charleston, S.C. and Florida.  The National Security Agency commissioned Gwen to do two large paintings for their office in Fort Meade, Maryland. Her work is in many corporate and private collections.

Entry Information:

Large Collection entry fee is $50 and may include up to 10 pieces of art.

Small Collection entry fee is $30 and may include up to 5 pieces of art.

Artists may enter BOTH a small collection and a large collection.  See complete rules below.

All media including photography are accepted into this exhibition.  One image may be submitted per piece entered.  Artwork may be for sale or not for sale.  Sales inquiries will be directed to the artist.  Membership in PAA is required for your entries to be accepted to this exhibition.

 

Awards

Entries will be judged both as a collection and as individual pieces.  Awards for individual pieces will include Best of Show (1 award), 1st Place (1 award), 2nd Place (1 award), 3rd Place (1 award), and Honorable Mention (2 awards).  Awards for large collections will include 1st Place (1 award), 2nd Place (1 award), 3rd Place (1 award), and Honorable Mention (2 awards).  Awards for small collections will include 1st Place (1 award), 2nd Place (1 award), 3rd Place (1 award), and Honorable Mention (2 awards).  Artists may receive no more than one individual and one collection award.

Judge’s critique and reception is planned for the June 19, 2022 at PAA Member’s meeting.

 

Membership Show Entry Rules

Entry may be made during the month of May, 2022 

Judging will take place the first week of June and will include only entries made by current Placerville Arts Association members. Winners will be notified on June 10, 2021. 

Ribbons and prizes will be mailed to the artist’s address on file with PAA’s membership chair.

Rules:

• Artwork may have been created at any point in the artist’s lifetime.

• Artwork may have been previously exhibited in a PAA sponsored event.

• One large collection entry with up to 10 items and one small collection entry with up to 5 items may be entered by each artist.

• Submit jpg images of your artwork.  If artwork is framed do not include frame in the photo submitted.

• Entries will be accepted only from PAA members.

• Compositions must be original in concept. Work that infringes on copyright law is not eligible.

• By entering this show, the artist permits Placerville Arts Association to use images of the submitted artworks in publicity and in the virtual show.  

 

Entry fees:         Large Collection $50 per entry up to 10 pieces per entry.

                       Small collection $30 per entry up to 5 pieces per entry.

Sales:    Artists establish the sale price on their items. Purchase inquiries will be referred to the artist.  Sales arrangements will be made directly between the purchaser the artist. Placerville Arts Association will not take a commission.  Donations to our outreach fund are always appreciated.

 

Cash Awards: Best of Show $100, 1st place $50

Individual Ribbon Awards:  Best of Show and 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, Honorable Mention

Small Collection Ribbon Awards: 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, Honorable Mention

Large Collection Ribbon Awards: 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, Honorable Mention

        No more than two awards, one individual and one collection, will be made to any artist.

 

Awards Reception: will be held June 19, 2022 during our PAA monthly zoom meeting.  All entrants will have a zoom link for the reception sent to their email address.
