April Art Challenge:

Repurposing Art

The challenge is to find a piece of thrift store type art and embellish the original piece with additional unexpected items or colors.  Lynell has provided us with an AI via Midjourney example of what you might do.  The example shows a classic tall ship on the ocean (the original work) with the addition of rubber duckies as embellishments to the original piece.

We look forward to how you are inspired by a piece of art to transform it with your own creativity.

Next Organizational Meeting

for Studio Tour

April 23 at Noon

The next meeting for the PAA Artists Studio Tour will be at the conference room at Raley's in Placerville at 166 Placerville Drive at Noon on April 23, 2024.

We will also offer Zoom for this meeting.  Details below.  If you plan to participate in this year's tour, we encourage you to attend the organizational meetings to learn more about the tour and to see how you can help promote the tour.  This year, we need a graphic artist to assist with the brochure.  We have used Print Shop in the past to put together the brochure.  If you use Print Shop that will make it easier, but if you have other preferred software, that works for us.

For questions about the tour contact the organizers: Myra Cooper Holmes, Wendy Scarlett, and Matt Harline.

Hello Artists!

This is a Call To Artists who would like to show at the second annual

Sierra Vista Winery Art Show

June 8 & 9th

What: The outdoor show and sale of artwork from local artists PAA, F, 2024AA or EDHAA and Gold Country Artists Gallery. Each artist will have an approximate 10x10 ft space to show and sell their artwork. There is no charge to enter and nothing is paid to the winery if you sell something. There are 7 spaces under cover in an existing tent. The rest of the spaces are open-air, so a pop-up tent is recommended. Space is limited to 25 total spaces. If you participated in last year’s show, there is no need to email photos of your work, just let me know you would like to participate again. If you are new to this venue and would like to participate, please send a few photos showing examples of the work you anticipate showing. The photos should be 1MB or smaller and do not have to be the exact same product, just a few samples of your work.

Application: Send the following information by email to Randy Honerlah (by April 20, 2024.  1) Provide two photos of your work; 2) Will you need space inside the existing tent or bring your own pop-up? All artists are expected to bring their own tables, easels, walls etc., to display their work whether you are inside or outside.

Acceptance: Notice of acceptance: April 30 by email

Set-up: June 7, 11am-5pm

Show dates: June 8 and 9, 11am-5pm

Take down: After 5pm, June 9.
