There is a "Passing Lane Ahead" sign at the west end of the pullout.

(no restrooms at site)

 –  Art on the Farm –

Placerville Art Association is partnering with the America River Conservancy for this day of art. Bring your easel and supplies, or camera, and spend the day painting, sketching, or “shooting” to your heart’s content. There are potentially thousands of beautiful images to capture at Wakamatsu. With 272 acres of springs, streams, oaks and vistas, an old barn, dairy, gravesite, home and gardens, the viewpoints are endless. Docents will be on hand to share the history of this remarkable piece of property.

El Dorado Irrigation District's Day Use Area is open again after a long construction period.

 

Picnic tables and shade trees are available. Restrooms are at the far end by the dam.

 

The area is located on Forebay Road in Pollock Pines. From Hwy 50 exit at Sly Park Road,

 

Turn left on Pony Express Trail, then right

 onto Forebay Road, across the street from Safeway. Go about a mile, and the parking area is on the left.

This working farm has a rose garden, picnic area, a picnic area and a farm store. Hopefully the fall leaves and pumpkins will be around too. We are asked to stay out of the orchards themselves for safety.

Directions: From Hwy 50, Placerville – Take the Spring St/Hwy 49 exit North – Heading towards Coloma. Go 3.2 miles and turn Left on Wallace Road. Take the scenic winding road 1.2 miles to Hooverville Orchards

 It’s a few minutes walk from the parking lot down a slight grade on a partially paved road so pack light.
Directions: About 4 miles past Coloma,
the turnoff is on the west side of the road just past a small creek overpass. Parking lot has a public restroom.
