Hooverville's 72 Acre farm is the biggest producer of Asian pears in the county. Look for pumpkins, rose garden and shaded picnic area. The Bake Shop has seasonal yummy goodies.
Directions: From Hwy 50, turn north at the light at Spring Street. Turn left at the 4-way stop at Coloma Road (Hwy 49). Follow 49 approximately 4 miles. Just past Red Shack Road, turn left on Wallace Road. There are signs there for Hooverville. Follow Wallace approximately 1.25 miles, and you’ve arrived!

Join in the Spring Celebration at this colorful western theme shopping area. There will be an arts festival, kids activities, theater shows and more. If you like a quieter space, there is a church and a park just behind the shopping center.

The farm is partnering with the Amador Artists Association and the Placerville Arts Association to invite artists from all over the area to come set up easels and paint around the ponds on these three dates, Fridays are usually quiet. There is a train, ponds, geese and other scenery to paint.
Directions: From Hwy 50, exit Schnell School Road or Point View Exit and turn north. Turn right on Carson Road. Just before Boa Vista, turn left on North Canyon Road. Farm is on the right.
There’s no need to RSVP, but it’s encouraged in case of cancellation. Bad weather will cancel the events.

This cemetery is beautiful, especially in the fall. Parking is available throughout, with lovely views from the top as well as various areas around the park. Porta-potty is available.
Directions: From east of Placerville town, take Hwy 50; exit at Placerville Drive. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp. Turn right on Cold Springs Road (traffic light). Turn left at the stop sign to stay on Cold Springs. Stay straight at the next stop sign to stay on Cold Springs. Travel approximately 0.4 miles; cemetery will be on your left immediately after the Hidden Springs Villas.
From west of Placerville town, take Hwy 50; exit at Placerville Drive/Forni Road. Turn right at the top of the ramp and follow the road over the bridge. Continue on Placerville Drive about a mile. Turn left on Pierroz Road, then left onto Cold Springs (or you can continue past Pierroz and turn left on Cold Springs and follow the previous directions). Cemetery will be on the left approximately 0.4 miles, immediately after the Hidden Springs Villas.

Bring your favorite outdoor art gear and cameras for a Paint Out at this unique bed and breakfast estate in the heart of Placerville’s Gold Hill area. This peaceful Spanish style villa has a beautiful patio area, oak trees, and agave plants.
Directions: 1831 Red Fox Road, Placerville. From Hwy 50, exit Greenstone Road (exit 41) and go north. After about 1 mile, turn left on Green Valley Road. Drive 2.7 miles, then turn right onto Lotus Road and go for 3.4 miles. Then take a left on Luneman Road. After .06 mile turn left onto Red Fox Road. Continue another half mile to Villa Agave.

They also have an art room full of books and frames to browse through. Directions: From Placerville take Hwy 50 west about 5 miles and exit at Missouri Flat Road, and make a left turn. Go 1.2 miles and continue left onto Sly Park Rd (E16). Go 2.5 miles and take the first right onto Four Springs Road. Go .4 miles and Winery is on the left. Turn left to go through the gate and up the driveway to parking at the top of the hill. (Or paint from the road looking up.)

The Sherwood Demonstration Garden is built and run by the UCCE Master Gardeners of El Dorado County. Sixteen themed educational gardens feature sustainably grown plants chosen for our Mediterranean climate ranging from the Shade Garden to the Rock Garden and everything in between!
