The Placerville Arts Association is El Dorado County’s oldest non-profit art group in continuous operation since it was formed in the early 1960’s. The current membership of approximately 190 includes both artists and patrons of the arts.

The purpose of Placerville Arts Association is to promote visual arts in the local community through art shows, exhibitions, art demonstrations, workshops, scholarships and art oriented field trips.

Placerville Arts Association provides community outreach programs by offering yearly scholarships to graduating high school seniors pursuing art related careers; awarding monetary grants to elementary school art programs; and donating a scholarship grant to the Sugarloaf Student Art Camp.

November 16th General Meeting Program

Steve Mermering will be our guest at the November meeting and will apply his expertise in critiquing our work.  This is a great opportunity to get feedback on your paintings before you enter the winter member show.  You may bring one or two pieces for Steve to critique.  The cost is $2 per painting.  I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's art.  The critiques are my favorite programs of the year!

PAA Winter Membership Show

Julia Swain is the chairperson for our Winter Member Show at the government center in Placerville which will run from Monday, December 8, through Friday, December 12.  Intake will be Monday morning, 12/8, from 8:00am to 9:30pm.

As always, the judging will be by category and there will also be Best in Show and People's Choice awards.  You can find the entry form - which also details the entry rules - by clicking on this link.  Member Show Entry Form.  Just print the form, fill it out, and bring it with you to in-take.  There will also be a limited number of printed forms available at in-take. PAA/SPS Holiday Party - Reserve the Date!

The Placerville Art Association and the Sierra Pastel Society are joining together for this year's Holiday Party, so mark your calendars for December 7. We are happy to announce, The Ponderosa High School Chorus will be performing.

The Brunch Buffet will be held: Sunday, December 7, 2014,Time: 10:30AM to 1:00PM, at the Cameron Park Country Club - 3201 Royal Dr, Cameron Park, CA.

Donations are being accepted now for door prize giveaways. If you have an ART piece you would like to donate, please contact Debra Appleby at email: cmyhandl@aol.com.
