Our annual Winter Member Show will be at the Government Center in Placerville from Monday, November 16th, through Friday, November 20th.  Intake will be from 8:00am through 9:30am on the morning of the 16th.  The judge is Sarma Karsierre of Consumes College. You many enter up to four pieces, including one miniature.  The entry fees are $6 per full size painting or $4 per miniature.  You can find the entry form as well as the complete rules here.  Many thanks to Julia Swain for once again chairing the member show!


The California Watercolor Society is holding its 26th annual National Exhibition at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco from January 4 through February 28, 2016.  The entry date is September 1.  Visit their website, www.californiawatercolor.org, for a prospectur.


Georgetown's hometown art gallery, Art On the Divide Cooperative, is excited to announce its 2nd annual invitational art show, this year titled "Visions Of the Harvest". A Call To Artists is going out and all local and regional artists, both two-dimensional and three-dimensional, are invited to submit work. The theme includes all aspects of the harvest such as fruits, vegetables, harvest in the landscape, market scenes, vineyards, workers in the field, barns, farm and garden equipment.
There will be two entry deadlines, the "early bird" on Sept. 1st when the first entry is $10.00 and a second entry, if desired, is an additional $5.00. The final deadline is Sept. 30th and the first entry is $20.00 and a second entry is an additional $5.00. Entries must be postmarked no later than Sept. 30th, 2015. Applicants will be notified by mid-October which pieces are accepted for the show.
Show dates are October 30th through November 15th, 2015 and visitors will be encouraged to vote for a "People's Choice" with a ribbon awarded to the winner and announced at the end of the show. A reception honoring the selected artists will be held on Nov. 8th.

Art Studio 360 is now open at 360 Main Street in Placerville.  PAA artists are invited to visit the studio.  It is a Co-op studio filled with art works all by local artists.  There are a number of PAA artists who are part of the studio.  The studio is currently looking for several more artists to join.  The Art Studio is owned and managed by Joyce Bahnsen, a PAA member and multi-talented artist.  For more information visit the studio (it's open Tuesday through Sunday, 10:30 to 5:30), talk to an artist, pick up a brochure, and/or call Joyce at 626-3249.
